Monuments

Why do i think that the best monument to be saved in a world catastophy that would destroy all the monuments except one should be this one? Is kind of simple answering that question, at least for me. It's all in the way i see things like the EU.

Dispite all the bad thing to it, we can admit that this "organisation" called, a suis generis (in its own kind), is in fact a old utopia coming real before our eyes. About 50 years ago, who would have thought that Great britain, France and Germany would team up and be friends, and that across europe that would be a single currency shared by a large number of countries?

The euro is in fact one big utopia that have becomed real, and inspite all of the problems facing us, i think that we've trully be blessed for all the people behind this great project. The euro should be seen as a currency for the people, a way to enjoy travels as well, but in fact is so much more than that, is one of the symbols that bounds us together, yet another one, a way to apreciate and demonstrate our comum culture as well as our national's too.

So i will preserv it because it's the monument who illustrate better this utopia that i love, turned into real.

It's a great thing to be in the other end of europe and get a portuguese coin for instance, i realise that the coin was parte of something really great, i remember all the people who have thought about this reallity in their DREAMS, hooping that one day it came true. We are making history with this, and inspiring others to do the same thing.

I think this is the true European dream, our dream, to insipire others to set the same ties as we have, and like us, rise up from the ashes and making a true impact on their lifes, for once get control of their lifes, don't let a country governmed by fools messing you arround, this is the century of the "multi", multicultural, multiethnical, multipower world, but without our voice in it, it will be more of the same over and over again.

We have to stand up and DO something about it, don't wait for others to do your dirty work.
